Yoga
with
I am a qualified Hatha Yoga teacher, and have been teaching for 15 years.
I hold an Instructor Diploma with the British School of Yoga. Since qualifying, I have continued to study and also hold a BSY qualification in Advanced Yoga Teaching, Pre and Post Natal Yoga, Relaxation Therapy, Advanced Meditation and a certificate of Merit in the Study of Eating Disorders.

I have been teaching exercise classes for over 20 years. Prior to teaching yoga, I taught Aqua Aerobics, Exercise to Music and Pre and Post Natal Exercise. I believe that Yoga can be enjoyed by EVERYONE, and can do so much to improve mobility, circulation, strength, balance and confidence. It can also help to calm the mind and relax the body.

I have worked in the community and at various studio locations in Sheffield, teaching exercise since 1992. I now teach exclusively at 'The Studio' on Norton Lees Lane. My aim is for classes to be effective, friendly, and relaxed. I offer classes suitable for a broad range of abilities (see timetable, and class descriptions).

As well as teaching yoga I enjoy writing about it too, and have had 2 articles published on the Yoga Journal website. I have also spoken a number of times on Radio Sheffield about Yoga and how it can help to reduces stress, improve sleep and alleviate back problems.

In the past year I have started working with children with Special Educational and Physical Needs. I enjoy this work very much as the children really embrace the yoga postures and it is easy to make yoga FUN! Yoga can be adapted so that it is accessible to all, even children with limited mobility. I have recently written a comprehensive yoga manual to enable teachers and parents to enjoy yoga with children who have SEPN and have received very positive feedback from those using it.
